Chapter 60: After Class, Come Into My Arms (58)
Cheat? What do you mean, cheat and get away with it?
A Si studied the man sitting on the hospital bed with genuine curiosity.
He was dressed in an impeccably tailored suit, reclining with his legs crossed on the bed that ought to have belonged to Lu Yu, eating the food he himself had bought for Lu Yu.
“Get up.”
Lu Yu drew A Si to his side and approached, clearly unwilling to pay Mo Tan any mind.
Mo Tan obediently stood up, grabbing a large piece of spiced beef from the table and stuffing it into his mouth.
“Hey, Lu Yu, what’s with your attitude toward me? Can’t you talk to me properly? I did take care of you for so many days, after all!” Mo Tan chewed as he spoke, his sharp eyes darting toward A Si from time to time.
Lu Yu ignored him, walked to the bed, and bent down to pat it, as if brushing away invisible dust.
“A Si, sit here.”
A Si tilted her head, eyeing the IV drip stand beside the bed.
There was still half a bottle of fluid left, the needle casually hooked on, with medicine dripping slowly down.
This was a VIP room Mo Tan had arranged for Lu Yu later, so he was the only patient here.
Naturally, even after removing the IV himself, no one had noticed.
“There was someone with you. Why were you so eager to leave?” A Si looked up, her delicate brows furrowed.
Saying he was hungry as an excuse to go downstairs, when there was clearly someone here.
And judging from the IV, it was obvious Lu Yu had pulled it out himself.
Why was he still so reckless and worrying?
A Si pressed her lips together in deep concern, gazing at Lu Yu with increasing disapproval.
“I…”
“No lying,” she interjected.
Mo Tan watched Lu Yu obediently shut his mouth and couldn’t help himself.
He burst out laughing.
“Damn! Is this really you? In all the years I’ve known you, I’ve never seen you this well-behaved. Today’s truly an eye-opener! Hahaha!”
Mo Tan mocked Lu Yu mercilessly.
Lu Yu merely shot him a sidelong glance, then looked away indifferently and said, “A Si, I wanted to find you.”
“I thought of you as soon as I woke up today. You didn’t wait long that day, did you?”
A Si shook her head. “I didn’t wait long.”
Hearing that Lu Yu had only just woken up, she realized he probably hadn’t eaten for three days.
“Hurry and eat something.”
Lu Yu obediently set the lunchbox on the table beside him.
He had packed two portions, placing one in front of A Si and keeping one for himself.
Naturally, there was none for Mo Tan.
But ever since A Si mentioned eating, Mo Tan’s eyes had been as wide as copper bells, gulping repeatedly as if he hadn’t eaten in days.
In reality, he’d just polished off a whole bag of snacks.
Still, he was hungry.
A Si held her lunchbox, taking small bites.
Noticing a burning gaze, she looked up and smiled politely, then bowed her head to continue.
She was famished too.
And the curry chicken was truly delicious.
The potatoes were soft and fluffy, melting in her mouth with just a few chews.
She smiled, clearly savoring the meal.
This only drew Mo Tan’s gaze even more; he felt his mouth watering so much it might drip onto the floor.
Suddenly, someone kicked his leg.
Looking up, Mo Tan met Lu Yu’s eyes—cold and dark as a frozen lake.
A chill radiated from them, making Mo Tan shiver.
He pleaded pitifully, “Lu Yu, good Lu Yu, let me have a bite too?”
“Go buy your own.”
Lu Yu shifted closer to A Si, shooting Mo Tan a warning glance.
She’s my woman. Don’t even think about it.
Mo Tan caught the message and scoffed dismissively.
