Considering Lu Yu’s current poor health, A Si chose a restaurant nearby. After packing up the food, she ran into trouble when it came time to pay. She was wearing a little dress and hadn’t brought any money with her when she left.

“We don’t allow credit here,” the cashier informed her.

Suddenly, a black, square object was held out in front of her.

“WeChat,” Lu Yu said.

After paying, he put away his phone and casually picked up the bag of food. “Shall we go?” he asked.

A Si kept staring at Lu Yu’s pocket, tilting her head as if lost in thought. It wasn’t until he took her hand and led her out of the restaurant that he whispered, “A Si, is there anything else you want to eat? We’re about to head back.” He lifted the bag of food and waved it gently in front of her.

A Si looked up, her eyebrows knitting together, her expression troubled.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Yu bent down, his pitch-black eyes locked intently on the girl before him. He was strikingly handsome, with a band of gauze wrapped around his forehead, making him stand out even more. Standing at the restaurant entrance, every girl passing by couldn’t help but glance at him.

There he was, tall and slender, bending patiently toward the girl before him, his gentle expression so inviting it could sweep anyone away.

A Si blinked and asked, “Xiao Bai, just now… what was that thing you were holding?”

She had seen it many times before—lots of people seemed to have one.

Lu Yu paused for a moment, then pulled it out casually, his expression complicated. “This?”

A Si nodded, reaching out to touch it with great care, as if afraid she might break it.

“You… haven’t seen one before?” He glanced at her, and by her clothes and spending habits, she didn’t look like someone unfamiliar with a phone. Besides, in this day and age, who hadn’t seen a phone?

A Si nodded again, lightly poking at the phone as if she found it amusing. Dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth, full of delight.

“Sister Chaoyun never told me about it,” she explained. Everything she knew about this place came from Chaoyun, who had prepared everything for her. But Chaoyun hadn’t prepared this.

“I see.” Lu Yu tucked the phone back into his pocket, and sure enough, A Si pouted in disappointment, looking up at him with aggrieved eyes, as if to say, Why won’t you let me see it anymore?

He slipped his arm around her shoulders, carrying the bag of food, and led her to a phone store. A Si looked utterly surprised.

She held a rose-gold phone in her hand, still dazed.

“Do you like it?” Lu Yu asked.

A Si nodded. “But…” She nervously gripped the hem of Lu Yu’s shirt and whispered, “I don’t know how to use it.”

She lowered her head. Strands of hair drifted across her face, catching the light from a nearby lamp. Lu Yu’s heart trembled again, as it so often did for her. There were countless moments when she left him breathless.

He tightened his arm around her shoulders, careful not to hold her too tightly, afraid she might be startled and slip from his embrace. Deliberately lowering his voice, he said hoarsely, “I’ll teach you.”

A Si shrank her neck, thinking how unexpectedly charming Xiao Bai’s voice sounded.

“All right.”

So, with Lu Yu’s arm still around her, A Si returned to the hospital room. To her, this wasn’t at all too intimate. When Xiao Bai was still a little black dragon, they’d been even closer than this.

As she opened the door, she was met by a face frozen in astonishment.

It was a burly man, his features finely chiseled yet together forming a fearsome impression.

“Oh my! Lu Yu, you—you actually managed to win her over?”
