Under the blazing sun, dozens of formations of freshmen stood painfully at attention in their military stance. Qin Xuan kept a close eye on Dongfang Qingwan’s condition in the neighboring formation, and the glances he occasionally cast in her direction quickly aroused both curiosity and discontent among some onlookers.

Dongfang Wenhao, standing two rows behind Qin Xuan, grew increasingly annoyed seeing him constantly staring at his sister. At that moment, their instructor noticed the distraction and strode up to Qin Xuan.

"Don’t fidget while standing at attention! Which girl are you watching so intently?" the young instructor barked.

Qin Xuan could only turn his gaze straight ahead and adopt a proper military posture. Although he had never participated in military training before, this level of intensity was effortless for him. These instructors were all men who defended their country, and naturally, Qin Xuan would not talk back. Soldiers deserved respect.

Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, Qin Xuan glimpsed a familiar figure striding purposefully toward him—it was the Mediterranean-haired grade director, Yang Yanan.

Catching sight of Qin Xuan standing at attention, Yang Yanan rushed over, his face contorted with anger.

"Qin Xuan! You’re getting more and more outrageous. I just gave you a warning, and now you’re causing trouble again?" Yang Yanan shouted loudly beside Qin Xuan, immediately drawing everyone’s attention.

Qin Xuan glanced at him indifferently, saying nothing and not moving a muscle.

"Hey, I’m talking to you!" Yang Yanan fumed. "You know what you did, right? That Lexus at the school gate—"

"Sir, this is freshman military training. The field is now a military camp. Please do not disrupt the camp's discipline," the young instructor approached, frowning.

"Hmph!" Yang Yanan snorted. "This student has committed a serious breach of discipline. I need to take him away."

Qin Xuan frowned. He could not leave now; what if Dongfang Qingwan fainted during this time?

He had thought trouble was brewing, but to his surprise, the young instructor stood his ground against Yang Yanan, retorting sharply, "Did he kill someone? Did he set a fire? If not, wait until military training is over!"

Qin Xuan couldn’t help but admire the instructor’s resolve. Truly a soldier—his innate fierceness was something Yang Yanan could never match.

Yet, his bravado seemed not to intimidate Yang Yanan, who had Li Shihao backing him. Why would he be afraid?

"You should know this isn’t a real military camp—this is a school! When students break the rules, it’s up to the school to handle it. A mere military drill is nothing," Yang Yanan said with disdain, trying to drag Qin Xuan away by force.

"Don’t touch him," the young instructor blocked his path.

"Oh, so now you think you can interfere with my students? Step aside, you little soldier!" Yang Yanan boasted.

The moment he uttered "little soldier," the instructor’s face turned icy.

"You—" the instructor was about to retort when a commanding voice rang out.

"Xiao Liu, what’s happening?" Turning, Instructor Liu saw a figure with two bars and three stars on his shoulder approaching—a regimental commander. Liu snapped to attention and saluted, "Report, Commander! He tried to take a student away, and I failed to stop him!"

"Oh?" The commander glanced at Yang Yanan. "Do you have an order from the school leadership?"

"Uh… no," Yang Yanan faltered in front of a commander.

"Then get out," the commander barked.

It was clear he’d heard Yang Yanan’s insult—"little soldier." One was a university grade director; the other, a full colonel. The difference in authority was obvious.

"This student incited others and smashed a Lexus at the school gate. This must be dealt with immediately!" Yang Yanan instinctively stepped back, but remembering Li Shihao’s instructions, he gritted his teeth and protested.

"Hmph, a Lexus?" The commander snorted. "Well done! If you want to take someone from here, bring an order from the school’s top leadership or my superiors. Otherwise, forget it."

His tone left no room for negotiation. By "school leadership," he meant only university-level authorities—the business school’s department heads were not qualified.

Yang Yanan’s arrogance instantly melted under the commander’s force, and he retreated indignantly, shooting Qin Xuan a glare as he left, as if to say: You won’t escape; I’ll deal with you after training ends…

Qin Xuan was unbothered, standing calmly at attention.

The commander’s imposing figure made a deep impression on the male students—many secretly resolved to be just as formidable one day. Their military stance suddenly became more earnest.

Once Yang Yanan had left, the commander turned, his expression softening. "Who led the charge to smash the Lexus at the school gate? Step forward!"

"It was me!" "It was me!"

Immediately, Zhou Xiaoyu and a group of others stepped forward.

Qin Xuan couldn't help but laugh at the sight. The commander frowned, surprised at the number stepping forward.

"It was me," Qin Xuan finally stepped out and shot Zhou Xiaoyu and the others a look, signaling them to return to formation.

Zhou Xiaoyu protested, "Boss, I helped smash the car—I can’t just watch you get punished alone!"

"All of you, get back! Who said I was punishing anyone?" the commander barked, his presence alone enough to inspire awe. Several students shuddered and instinctively returned to their formation.

Zhou Xiaoyu trembled, but remained unmoved.

Qin Xuan stood unwavering before the commander, chest high.

"Oh? Not bad. They call you boss, so you must have led the charge against the Lexus?" The commander looked at Qin Xuan.

Qin Xuan smiled, "Yes, it was me."

Seeing him smile so calmly, the commander was surprised—this young man’s mental fortitude was impressive.

"Alright, return to your formation," the commander waved. "Xiao Liu, train them well—not a single one is allowed to slack off!"

"Yes, sir!" the young instructor replied loudly and saluted.

Qin Xuan returned to his formation, feeling somewhat puzzled. Was the commander just testing them, or did he simply want to see who smashed the Lexus? Judging by his expression, there was not the slightest hint of blame—in fact, there seemed to be approval.

His earlier words to Yang Yanan—"Well done"—were clearly heartfelt.

Qin Xuan found it odd—did the commander harbor some deep resentment against cars from the Land of the Sun?

As Qin Xuan pondered, a commotion erupted from the neighboring formation. His heart tightened; he quickly turned his head—and sure enough, Dongfang Qingwan had fainted.

"Sis!" Dongfang Wenhao cried out, rushing over in alarm.
