Chapter 30: You Are Not Gay, and John Will Never Grow Old!
Chapter 30: You’re Not Gay, John Doesn't Age!
Scarlett woke up as well, draping a slender arm around him.
"Qin Feng, what’s the rush? Can’t we rest for half a day?"
Looking at the beauty beneath the covers, Qin Feng felt a stir of desire, but he shook his head. "No, Smith and the others should be arriving soon."
"Tsk, aren't you the director now? What are you afraid of if you make everyone wait?"
"…I can’t do that."
He brushed through Scarlett’s hair and kissed her cheek. "Darling, let’s get up, shall we?"
"Alright then..."
The two got up and washed. On the drive to the set, Scarlett applied her lipstick. Qin Feng hummed a tune, recalling the events of the previous night, feeling exceptionally pleased.
"Scarlett, last night, I..."
Before he could finish, Scarlett interrupted, "It’s already been verified; you’re not gay."
"Tsk, that’s not what I was asking. I meant, how was I..."
Scarlett’s large eyes looked at him. "Your performance?"
"Yeah, yeah!"
"Passable, but there’s room for improvement."
"..."
As they chatted, they soon arrived at the set. The actors were already there.
Qin Feng apologized, "Sorry for being a bit late, everyone. Let’s get started right away."
A few minutes later, filming began:
"B037, take one! Ready... Action!"
Learning that the protagonist, John, is resigning, his university colleagues have gathered to see him off. They sit around the sofa in John’s home, where someone discovers several genuine antiques. Suspicion about John’s true identity begins to brew.
Harry holds his tea. "John, you’re building suspense. Clearly, you have something to say—spit it out!"
John (played by David Smith) stands up. "Perhaps I..."
Everyone looks at him.
"You’re the ones who lured me into this. I’ve never told anyone before, and I don’t know what will happen once I do. I want to ask you a question..."
"If a man were to survive from the Paleolithic era until today," John glances around at them, "what would you think?"
They all assume it’s a joke.
Dan chuckles, "Interesting. What’s the matter, are you writing a sci-fi novel?"
John: "Let’s say I am. What kind of person would he be?"
Dan: "Anatomically, a caveman is no different from us."
Art: "Except we’d be a bit taller."
"Cut!"
Qin Feng called for a stop. Though the scene was simple, it required constant camera angle changes. Additionally, multiple takes were needed, so the rhythm on set was frequently interrupted. They filmed repeatedly, performing the same lines over and over.
After lunch, they continued.
"B038, take five! Ready... Action!"
John pours a glass of water. "I once had the chance to sail with Columbus, but I don’t like adventure. I was certain the Earth was round, though."
The group watches him, exchanging glances, thinking: *Is this guy high just from drinking water?*
Dan glares at him. "Did you have vodka before we got here?"
Art laughs: "John just admitted he’s 14,000 years old."
John: "Every ten years or so, when people start to realize that I don’t age, I leave that place."
The group grows quiet, sensing that John truly does not age!
Art shrugs, "You’re better off than most, keep going."
John crosses his hands. "In the first stage of my life as I claim it, I lived to be 35—just as I am now."
"I became the leader of the tribe. But later, they grew fearful and drove me away."
"They thought... I was stealing their lives to stay young."
"Cut!"
Qin Feng called for a halt again.
"Everyone, your performances are excellent. While John is speaking, I need to capture a few shots of your reactions."
"Okay, Qin Feng, let’s do it."
No one had any objections. After all, the film wasn’t physically taxing; it was just sitting around, delivering lines, and reacting. Drinking tea, chatting, and spinning yarns—it was relatively relaxed.
Qin Feng filmed several takes before moving on.
Art waves a hand. "Most people don't remember their childhood, but you can still hold onto those memories?"
John sighs deeply. "Just like you, the highs, the lows, and the traumas of life remain etched in the heart forever."
"Whether it happened at three or thirty-five, the memory still stings."
Dan muses, "Continue."
John: "Because of my immortality, I’ve been constantly pursued."
"So I learned to join new groups and learned that I had to leave periodically."
"Of course, it was also because we were semi-nomadic, migrating with the climate and the prey."
"The first two thousand years were very cold. I realized it was warmer at lower altitudes. It was the Ice Age, I suppose."
"Cut!"
Without realizing it, the day’s shoot drew to a close.
Everyone encouraged one another. Qin Feng shook hands with every actor.
"You performed very well, thank you!"
"You were great too, Director!"
...
*Jurassic Park* finally had its release date!
The 20th of next month—less than a month away. Producer Kathleen Kennedy deserved much of the credit.
Movie posters, stills, and trailers had been uploaded to various film websites. The behind-the-scenes footage and the opening ceremony videos were also live. The promotional campaign was in full swing!
Major media outlets reposted the content everywhere.
In the trailer:
First, a helicopter flies toward Isla Nublar—a wide shot of waves crashing against the island’s shore.
Next, a crystal-clear piece of amber appears, with a mosquito clearly visible inside.
The next second, the exterior of the Jurassic laboratory is revealed as Hammond walks toward the entrance.
Immediately after, the classic score swells, and the towering gates of Jurassic Park appear.
"ROAR—!" The sound of a dinosaur finally echoes!
Grant and the other two leads discover something, looking ahead in shock.
Voiceover: *Welcome to Jurassic Park!*
A wide shot: a dozen dinosaurs walking and drinking by a lake.
Then, dinosaurs appear one after another, and crises follow in rapid succession. Cars overturning, trees crashing down, children screaming, a Velociraptor on the hunt...
Finally, the T-Rex lets out a mighty roar at the camera!
Accompanied by the film’s logo, the trailer ends.
Instantly, the internet erupted!
Viewers truly felt the impact of such realistic dinosaurs. It was footage no one had ever seen before. The anticipation skyrocketed!
[Oh my god! Incredible, Universal actually brought dinosaurs to life!]
[Oh heaven! This... how did they do it? Is this something I can see without paying?]

[I don't care about anything else, I just want to know how these special effects were made. It looks so powerful.]
[Could it be that the golden age of sci-fi is finally here?]
[No matter what, I’m going to the premiere. If you guys are hesitant, just wait for my review!]
