Chapter 17: I Am the True Love, Qin Feng Visits the Set

At Scarlett’s side.

The male lead, Josh, also saw that piece of news.

“Fuck! Who is that guy? Someone in the industry? I’ve never seen him before!”

“A nobody. How could he compare to me? Scarlett must really have lost her mind.”

In a bad mood, he immediately stood up and went to find Scarlett.

From afar, he called out, “Scarlett!”

“What’s wrong?” Scarlett was adjusting her costume.

He walked closer, glancing around. “Oh my God, do you know what happened? You’re in the news!”

Scarlett blinked. “So what?”

Josh stared at her in disbelief. “You’re not seriously dating that guy, are you? Who even is he?”

Scarlett smiled. “Josh, this has nothing to do with you.”

“No, Scarlett, you know how I feel about you. Even if you don’t like me, there’s no need to go after some nobody.”

“What’s so special about that Asian guy anyway? Why him?”

“Josh, watch your words. Don’t be racist.”

“Alright, alright… Just think about it. I’m sincere about you! Scarlett, you have to think carefully—only I am your true love! Absolutely true love!”

“True love?”

Scarlett almost laughed out loud. “Josh, you seem to have forgotten—you have many ‘true loves’ and so much drama inside. I’m in love now. My affairs don’t need your interference.”

“You!” Josh looked at her helplessly. “You’re blinded. Honestly, I feel sorry for you.”

He turned and started to leave, then glanced back.

“Think carefully. My feelings for you are completely different from those for the others!”

Scarlett shuddered.

Unreasonable. Not worth her time.

...

Two days later, in the afternoon.

It was time for Scarlett’s crew to wrap filming.

Qin Feng had taken a day off, dressed casually in a jacket, holding a bouquet of flowers, and arrived outside the set.

The security guards stopped him from entering.

He called Scarlett, who came out to meet him, her face bright with happiness.

“For you. Congratulations on wrapping up,” Qin Feng said, handing over the flowers.

“Thank you. It’s not time yet—come with me.”

The two walked side by side into the set, causing a stir among everyone.

Most had seen the recent entertainment headlines, and now seeing Qin Feng in person, curiosity ran high.

Whispers and chatter filled the air.

“Is that Scarlett’s rumored boyfriend?”

“He came to visit the set? Rumored boyfriend, huh? Might be becoming the official one!”

“Wow, he’s really handsome! If I were Scarlett, I’d keep him too!”

“Not just handsome, he’s cool. I once saw an Asian actor with long hair named Jin something—he looked just like this.”

“There are no reporters here; otherwise, this would be another big story for our crew today.”

“...”

But Scarlett didn’t care about any of it. She confidently introduced Qin Feng to several close friends.

“This is my friend, Qin Feng.”

Qin Feng smiled politely. “Hello everyone.”

A few friends gathered around them.

“Scarlett, you wouldn’t tell us a few days ago, but you’ve been in love all this time!”

“Wow~ So the handsome guy in the photos from a few days ago is you!”

“Definitely a handsome guy. Scarlett may have faults, but her taste is impeccable.”

“Qin Feng, where are you from?”

“I’m from China.”

Just then, Josh approached from the outskirts.

Hands in his pockets, he cast a sideways glance at Qin Feng, disdain evident on his face.

“Miss Scarlett, who is this gentleman? Introduce him to me too.”

Scarlett frowned slightly upon seeing Josh.

“He’s my friend. Since I’m wrapping up filming today, he came specially to visit.”

“Hmph! Friend?” Josh stepped closer, sizing up Qin Feng. “Hey buddy, what do you do?”

Qin Feng sensed the hostility, already guessing most of the story. He extended a hand with a gentle smile. “Hello, I’m Qin Feng. I’m not an actor.”

Josh ignored the handshake, sneering. “Not an actor? So you’re just a nobody? I really don’t get why Scarlett would like someone like you. It’s laughable!”

Qin Feng withdrew his hand without a word.

He knew Josh well—a star and a wealthy heir, who had pursued countless actresses and was constantly in the gossip columns.

People like him were common, both at home and abroad. The entertainment world was used to it.

Qin Feng was not an actor and had no intention to engage.

Scarlett glared. “Josh, today’s the wrap-up day. Don’t talk nonsense!”

“Nonsense? I’m not talking nonsense. What’s so good about this Qin Feng? Scarlett, you must be blinded by him!”

“He’s just a nobody. What do you like about him? Does he have money? Is he famous? Can he afford a villa or a sports car?”

Scarlett said coldly, “Josh, what are you talking about? When I choose a boyfriend, it’s not about money. You don’t understand me at all.”

Josh shrugged and looked around loudly.

“I’m just worried that a star like you might get scammed or exploited. What would you do then?!”

Scarlett’s face darkened, about to lose her temper.

Qin Feng reached out and gently took her hand.

Her friends couldn’t stand Josh’s nonsense and immediately retorted.

“Josh, you’re the male lead, but why spread nonsense everywhere?”

“Seriously, have you been drinking at lunch?”

“Not everyone is like you, you know?”

“Besides, who says a nobody can’t be with a star? This is Scarlett’s business, none of your concern!”

As they spoke, footsteps approached.

Director Frank Miller came over.

In his fifties, thin in build, wearing a tall black hat.

“Wrapping a film is a happy day. Why so much noise? What’s going on, huh?”

Everyone stepped aside and nodded.

“Director’s here.”

“Hello, Director.”

Frank Miller walked to the center, looking at the group. “What’s the matter? We still have a group photo later!”

Scarlett said, “Director, nothing special. I’m wrapping today, and my friend came to visit.”

“Pfft!” Josh scoffed and looked up at the sky.

“Oh, a visit, huh.”

Frank Miller glanced at Qin Feng beside her, slightly taken aback.

Qin Feng smiled. “Hello, Director Miller.”

Frank Miller exclaimed in surprise, “Oh! You know me? Scarlett told you?”

“No, I’ve seen your film Sin City.”

Frank Miller was not only a director but also a renowned comic artist. His most important directorial work was the Sin City series.

“Oh, I see…” Frank Miller looked at the long-haired Asian man carefully. He seemed familiar somehow. Where had he seen him before?

Hmm... where was it?

My memory’s failing me...

Wait!

Suddenly, Frank Miller clapped his hands, startling those nearby.

“I remember now! Aren’t you the assistant director of Jurassic Park?!”
