Chapter 31: The Primordial Mother Goddess's Greatest Treasure
"Yaoguang?" the Primordial Mother Goddess Nuwa repeated the true name revealed by the silver dragon from beyond the heavens.
Given that this celestial silver dragon could manipulate the rules of time and space at will, and that its draconic form radiated a brilliance akin to the aurora, the name "Yaoguang" was indeed fitting.
Yaoguang: the unreachable, distant aurora.
The Primordial Mother Goddess Nuwa and the silver dragon Yaoguang locked eyes for several moments before both released their boundless pressure. As these forces collided, they triggered sounds of tearing within the Sea of Chaos.
Nuwa immediately brandished the Primordial Sword, striking at the dragon's body. However, the creature was shielded by powerful vortices of time and space, forcing the blade to first shatter these barriers.
Yaoguang, naturally, would not sit idly by; it lashed out with its massive tail toward the Goddess. Nuwa instantly condensed divine light to parry, only to discover that the dragon could pass through her defenses without disrupting the light at all, striking her directly. Seizing the moment, Yaoguang sent Nuwa flying and followed up with a burst of dragon breath.
Nuwa quickly transformed the Primordial Sword into the Primordial Mirror to deflect the blast, but no sooner had she blocked the fire than she was struck hard again by the dragon’s tail. Utilizing its superior size and mastery over spacetime, Yaoguang kept the Goddess suppressed. Even as a supreme deity, Nuwa found herself in an increasingly wretched state.
It was not that she hadn't considered a counterattack, but whenever she struck the dragon's body with her divine power, she felt no impact, as if she were hitting empty air. Forced into a corner, she could only defend with all her might while searching for a strategy.
Without a doubt, Yaoguang wielded the laws of time and space as easily as one might eat or drink. While these laws were not categorized among the Ten Greatest, they were special rules that transcended them. The Ten Greatest are: Time is Sovereign, Space is King. Without Destiny, Cause and Effect are Emperor. Creation is Peerless, Reincarnation is Infinite. Five Elements are the Foundation, Yin and Yang are Supreme. Destruction is Hidden, and Force is Ultimate.
In truth, Yaoguang could be considered the Master of Spacetime. Its style of understanding and utilizing these forces differed entirely from the Evil God Yog-Sothoth; Yaoguang was a combat-oriented entity through and through.
The silver dragon grew increasingly fluid in its assault, drawing divine blood from Nuwa and scattering it across the Sea of Chaos. Its claws and tail rained down, forcing the Goddess into a desperate defense. Yaoguang would seize any moment of instability to unleash dragon breath or thunderous roars; one such blast grazed Nuwa, causing her combat stance to collapse.
Though completely suppressed, Nuwa felt no anxiety or negative emotion. If this were the extent of the dragon's power, she was ready to strike back.
Finally, deciding it was time to deliver the finishing blow, Yaoguang’s draconic form flared with an even more magnificent and grandiose aurora. It unleashed a dense, omnidirectional barrage of light beams, each possessing the power to instantly annihilate a universe. Generally, the destruction of a universe is achieved by disrupting spacetime to trigger a collapse; Yaoguang had simplified this process, imbuing every single beam with that destructive potential. Looking at the incalculable number of beams erupting from its body, one could grasp the suffocating, terrifying, and hopeless nature of its power.
This was cosmic-level combat! This was the singular limit of the universe! This was the reset key that could return the cosmos to chaos!
Facing this final strike, Nuwa produced the Seed of Origin. By injecting her divine blood and power, she activated the seed, compelling it to absorb the dragon's onslaught. The Seed of Origin, also known as the Seed of the Universe, was a supreme treasure Nuwa had discovered at the singularity. It possessed the functions of containment, absorption, and release, containing the mysteries of the Big Bang and cosmic evolution. After finding it, she had created a secret realm around it—her palace, the Temple of Origins.
Having absorbed the attack, Nuwa unleashed the stolen energy back at Yaoguang, forcing the strongest spear to pierce the strongest shield. As the dragon was struck by its own power, it triggered a turbulence of time and space, causing silver vortices to erupt throughout the Sea of Chaos.
Yaoguang roared in fury. It had not expected the Goddess to hide such a trump card, nor to be turned against itself. It was absolutely infuriating!
Taking advantage of the dragon’s momentary disorientation, Nuwa retrieved another supreme treasure: the Chaos Bracelet. Adjusting her stance, she poured her divine power into the bracelet and hurled it at Yaoguang. The artifact seemed to possess eyes of its own, striking the dragon before returning to her hand, repeating the cycle again and again.
Yaoguang had not expected its spacetime vortices to be shattered, nor that its constant shifts through time and space would be locked onto and struck by the Goddess’s new weapon. Forced into a corner, it ignited the spacetime power contained within every scale on its body. Only through the reinforcement of its infinite divine power was it able to withstand the impact of the Chaos Bracelet.
After several rounds of long-range exchanges, Nuwa recalled the Chaos Bracelet and wore it on her wrist. She then covered her hands in divine power and drew a weapon from her own chest. This was a divine armament bestowed upon her by the Heavenly Yuan Yinglong after she had molded mankind from clay. Unlike the Heavenly Emperor Tablet, Nuwa had not yet given this weapon a name.
The weapon bestowed by the Heavenly Yuan Yinglong was a divine spear!
As the spear was drawn from her chest, the once-calm Sea of Chaos suddenly thundered. Both Nuwa and the dragon felt themselves shaking violently, despite there being no physical tremors. Wrapped in the pure divine power of the Mother Goddess, the spear radiated her unique aura.
Merely wielding it was enough to burn away time, shatter space, and force Destiny and Cause and Effect to retreat; even supreme forces could not contend with it. As the spear swept through, chaos, time, and space were cleaved apart. The weapon’s momentum—a force that would slay gods or Buddhas if they stood in its path—shattered everything in its wake.
"ROAR!!!"
Sensing the danger radiating from the spear, the silver dragon let out an enraged cry. The roar carried immense destructive power, but Nuwa disregarded it, using the spear to dissipate the sound.
From this moment on, the Primordial Mother Goddess Nuwa and the silver dragon Yaoguang entered their final battle.
