Chapter 15: Master Coral's Great Renown
“Is it really worth turning the whole house upside down over a bottle of perfume?” Nan Weiguo’s face darkened. “As the elder sister, can’t you show a little leniency toward your younger sister? And even resort to violence?”
“Wuwuwu, exactly! Sister really hit hard,” Nan Zhen’er sobbed, tears streaming down her face like falling petals, pressing her cheek forward to reveal a bright red slap mark.
“Weiguo, you really need to keep Nan Xing in check. When you’re not around, she completely disregards the two of us. She even dared to lay hands on me just now.”
Qin Peicen trembled as she walked over and hooked his arm, her words laced with a warning, “At this rate, who knows? One day she might even kill her without realizing it.”
Nan Weiguo’s expression grew gloomier. He was about to scold Nan Xing again when the delivery man’s voice suddenly came from the doorway:
“Is Miss Nan home? There’s a package for you that requires your signature. It’s air-shipped from France.”
France?
Nan Zhen’er froze for a few seconds, then approached to take a look—it was the perfume she had been longing for.
So that earlier delivery…
She sulkily looked up, meeting Nan Xing’s sharp gaze, which made her shiver.
“Hmph, it’s definitely a fake! How could you afford a luxury brand endorsed by Lin Weiyang?” Nan Zhen’er tossed the unopened package to Nan Xing. “Trash perfume—take it back!”
“Xing’er, don’t take it personally. Zhen’er must have mixed up the packages in her haste.”
Nan Weiguo forced a smile, his eyes hiding something insincere.
Mixed up?
Nan Xing clenched her palm tightly.
No matter how many words she had, it probably wouldn’t measure up against Nan Zhen’er’s endless crying, tantrums, and threats.
In the end, she grew tired of arguing. “If you can’t even tell trash apart, maybe it’s time to see an eye doctor.”
…
Back in the attic, the phone rang just as she returned.
Nan Xing put it on speaker, placing it on the table while unwrapping the package.
“How’s that? The surprise I prepared for you—isn’t it exciting?”
She opened the exquisitely packaged perfume and sprayed a little on her fingertip. A faint, delicate fragrance lingered in the room. “Hmm, not bad.”
The scent was unmistakably familiar.
“Of course—it’s personally endorsed by me, this big star. Unfortunately, the contract is about to expire, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to work with Master Coral again.”
“What happened?”
“Little Xingxing, you don’t know how famous Master Coral is. Although I’ve never met her in person, many companies competed to collaborate with Sky, and we were the lucky ones chosen. Honestly, I feel pretty fortunate.”
Nan Xing narrowed her eyes. “Is that so? Maybe you and Coral are destined to work together.”
“Pfft, with your sweet talk. You have to know that a top figure like Master Coral—I’d be content just to catch a glimpse from afar.”
Lin Weiyang sighed, “I wish you were still by my side. You’d easily help me secure the deal with Sky, and maybe I’d even get the chance to meet Master Coral.”
“Do you really think that highly of me?”
“Of course. After all, you’re—” Before she could finish, static interrupted the call. “Little Xingxing, I’m off to a makeup trial now. We’ll talk another day.”
Every time, someone would interrupt unexpectedly. Nan Xing was used to it by now.
She hung up and went to the wardrobe, selecting a youthful, energetic outfit.
Today, she didn’t go for her usual punk style. Her makeup was light, but thanks to her exceptional skills, no one could see her true appearance.
At least the rebellious aura wasn’t so strong this time.
Before heading to the Li Group, Nan Xing glanced at the perfume box and deliberately spritzed some on her collarbone.
