Chapter 34: Journey into the Fantasy Forest Alone
"Three, two, one, jump!" With that command, Briar released his legs, which had been wedged into the plane. The boss of the M Group, who had been preparing to charge forward, saw them jump and hastily skidded to a halt.
Yama: "? Who just retracted a message?"
"Hahaha, now you know how powerful I am!" But no sooner had he turned around than he saw the plane heading straight for the massive chimney ahead. He scrambled to find a parachute, but then came a loud "bang," and amidst billowing smoke, the plane plummeted from the sky.
In the reservoir, Briar and Bramble surfaced, searching for Logger Vick and Dudu.
"Logger Vick, Dudu, where are you?" No sooner had the words left his lips than Logger Vick emerged from the water, holding Dudu aloft.
"Thank goodness, Dudu is safe."
"Hey, don't get too happy yet! When I get down there, I'll make you pay!" Following the sound, they saw a man in black, suspended by his parachute, roaring at them in fury.
But before he could revel in his arrogance for even a few seconds, the sound of police sirens wailed from the ground.
"Police! I don't want to go down! I don't want to go down!" Despite his protests, he was eventually brought to the ground and handcuffed.
At that moment, Su He stepped out of a police car. He looked at the M Group boss, whose face had turned ash-gray, and said, "Hey! What was left in that safe wasn't just Dudu's happiness; it was the love your father had for you. Yet, you never sought redemption."
Hearing this, he burst into wild laughter. "Love? If that old man really loved me, he wouldn't have donated the property that belonged to me! I could have had a brilliant future, but because of him, I ended up like this. I am his true child!"
Su He remained silent. He simply placed a photograph of the boss’s father accompanying him through his childhood in front of him before walking away.
He knew that this was a situation no one could easily accept. It was like a wealthy heir who had never known want, only to have everything suddenly taken away—anyone would go mad.
Lost in thought, he walked over to Logger Vick and the others. "Vick, let's hand Dudu over to the police. It's time for her to return to her own life."
Logger Vick looked at Dudu in his arms with reluctance. "Dudu, when you get to the police officers, remember to listen to them. You aren't allowed to cause trouble like this anymore."
With that, he handed Dudu to the approaching officers. Feeling herself being passed into a stranger's arms, Dudu began to cry loudly.
Seeing Logger Vick's reluctance, Su He said softly, "Let's go, Vick. It's time for us to head back, too. We’ll see Dudu again someday."
"Yeah."
Back in the forest, the group remained in low spirits, and it took several days for things to improve. During those days, Su He took every opportunity to search for the mural leading to the Fantasy Forest, but he never found it. Left with no choice, he decided to ask Briar and Bramble for help.
He entered the tree hollow and found the two bears eating lunch.
"Little Su, what brings you here? Do you want some honey and fruit?"
"Oh, no thank you. Briar, Bramble, I'm planning to go on a trip to relax for a while. I remember you mentioning that when you were younger, you met someone who lived in the forest wearing feathers. I'd like to try and find that place to do some exploring."
"Oh, is that so? We don't know where that person lives, but we do know the place where we first met him. You can try searching there and see if you have any luck."
"That's great! Thank you, Briar, Bramble!"
"Ah, it's nothing." With that, they gave Su He the exact location.
Shortly after leaving the bear den, Su He returned home, packed some clothes into his bag, and slung it over his shoulder. As he stepped out, he bumped into Logger Vick.
"Hey, Little Su, you've got your gear ready. Where are you off to?"
"Oh, Vick, I'm heading to the forest in the south to travel and clear my head."
"I see. Well, have a pleasant trip. I'm off to work."
"Yes, take care."
Following this, Su He began his journey. After two days of traveling, following the directions the bears had given him, he crossed forests, mountains, and rivers until he finally arrived before a glacier.
Looking at the large opening in the ice, Su He adjusted his backpack with determination and walked inside, thinking to himself, "My childhood goddess Naya, I'm coming."
Little did he know that from the moment he stepped into the glacier, his own fate would take a tragic turn.
"I remember when I watched the movie in my past life, the robot Ironie used a few pieces of ice to reflect sunlight onto a wall," Su He thought. He broke off several shards of ice and placed them in the right positions.
Once the last piece was set, as the sunlight hit them, the ice shards began to reflect onto each other, eventually forming a dazzling beam of light that pointed toward an inconspicuous ice wall.
"This must be it." With that, Su He channeled his spiritual energy into his hand and punched through the ice surface. Before him appeared a bridge made of ice, and after crossing it, he found a map frozen within the ice.
After much deliberation, Su He decided not to take the map; after all, the plot of the Fantasy Space still had to unfold. He jumped onto the ice path to the side and slid down. After passing through a massive ice cave, he saw a cliff ahead. Su He leaped across and successfully landed on the opposite ice ridge.
"This is it." With another punch, he shattered the ice wall and beheld a magnificent sight.
The forest before him was vast, stretching beyond the horizon, and the scenery was so beautiful it felt like a fairyland on earth. Crystal-clear dew shimmered on the grass, and the moist soil exuded the fragrance of fresh grass and flowers.
Gazing at the beauty, breathing in the sweet air, and basking in the sunlight, Su He felt a sense of freedom that left him utterly mesmerized.
"Forget it, I can enjoy the view later. The priority is to find Naya. After all, wouldn't it be even better to hold a beauty in my arms while admiring all this?" As he thought about it, Su He almost drooled.
Realizing he was making a fool of himself, he quickly wiped his mouth and set off on the next leg of his journey.
Several hours later, Su He was walking aimlessly through the forest, feeling bored. "Sigh, how am I ever going to find Naya like this?"
Suddenly, his sharp senses detected a grave danger hurtling toward him at high speed. He quickly channeled the spiritual energy in his body and dove to the side.
At the spot where he had been standing, a massive tree trunk had been driven deep into the ground. If he hadn't dodged in time, he would have been skewered through.
At the thought of this, Su He flew into a rage.
"Damn it! A coward ambushing me? I'll kill you! Show yourself, you son of a—!"
