Chapter Three: Demon Lord Wutian (Part I)

To speak of the great catastrophe that befell Western Buddhism, one must begin with the Dragon-Han Primordial Tribulation, the first of the immeasurable kalpas.

The Dragon-Han Primordial Tribulation was a great war between East and West—a clash between Rahu, the Demon Ancestor of the West, and the Three Great Clans of the East. In the end, Rahu was defeated, and the power of the Demon Sect vanished like smoke into thin air. Yet Rahu himself did not perish, nor did his Dao fade away!

At the final moment, Rahu swore before the Great Dao that, having established the Demon Sect alongside the Daoist School of the Mysterious Gate, “when the Dao declines and demons flourish, the demons…”
