Million Treasure Pavilion

Market District of the Chongxuan Sect.
Elegant Chamber of the Myriad Treasures Pavilion.
Incense of sandalwood curled gently, pale smoke drifting like threads.
Pang Yue, Luo Qingyuan, and Shi Mingfei sat opposite an elderly gentleman in his eighties.
On the small table between them lay three pieces of ore, each covered in red rust. One was a full foot square, while the other two were smaller, about the size of a grown man’s fist.
This was Supreme Mysterious Iron.
“Master Shi, if you had come just half a day later, these three pieces of Supreme Mysterious Iron would have been sold,” the old man said with a cheerful smile.
Shi Mingfei smiled slightly and inquired, “May I ask who else wanted to purchase these?”
The old man glanced at Pang Yue and replied, “They were disciples from the Taiqing Sect. They found my price too steep, so the deal fell through… I suspect they’re now trying to use their sect’s influence to negotiate a lower price.”
Pang Yue chuckled and said, “Host, feel free to name your price. As long as it’s fair, I shall not haggle.”
The elder laughed heartily, “With Master Shi here, how could I dare ask for payment? Consider this Supreme Mysterious Iron a gift to you.”
Pang Yue had obtained a storage pouch from Shen Tuhao and others in the Frozen Domain of Tianjue; he was not short of spirit stones and unwilling to owe favors.
He glanced at Luo Qingyuan, who said to Shi Mingfei, “Sister Mingfei, it’s enough that you can recommend the shop to us. As for the price, it’s best if the host and Pang negotiate directly.”
Shi Mingfei’s beautiful eyes flickered, “Very well, Old Qian, you name your price.”
The old man pondered briefly, “I quoted forty-one thousand spirit stones to the Taiqing Sect cultivators. If you wish to buy, I can offer it at thirty-nine thousand.”
Pang Yue nodded, “Deal.”
Soon after, the transaction was completed.
Shi Mingfei watched Pang Yue accept the price without a flicker of hesitation, then quietly produced thirty-nine thousand spirit stones, her curiosity piqued.
Though the Luo family of the Demon Talisman Sect was wealthy, even a core disciple like Luo Qingyuan might not easily produce such a sum on the spot, much less an ordinary son-in-law like Pang Yue.
Shi Mingfei, shrewd and tactful, had initially offered the iron as a favor to save face for both Pang and Luo.
Later, the Luo family would surely ensure she did not suffer loss.
Unexpectedly, Pang Yue showed none of the typical son-in-law’s meekness...
After chatting a while longer, just as the four were about to take their leave, the door suddenly opened and someone entered unbidden.
“Old Qian… those pieces of Supreme Mysterious Iron… huh, you have guests?”
The newcomer feigned surprise and looked toward Pang Yue and the others.
“Sister Mingfei, you’re here too!”
Seeing Shi Mingfei, he suddenly smiled and bowed.
This man appeared just over thirty, wearing a crow-blue robe, a jade pendant at his waist, and a forehead ornament. Though only at the fourth stage of the Dao Foundation, his aura was formidable.

Behind him clustered several attendants who seemed like followers but were all stronger than him.
The old man rose and said, “Ah, Lord Le gracing our humble shop is an honor. I apologize for my poor reception.”
Shi Mingfei quietly transmitted the man’s background to Luo Qingyuan and Pang Yue.
His name was Le Feihuang, son of Le Yu, a Golden Core elder of the Wanxiang branch of the Chongxuan Sect.
Le Feihuang chuckled, “No offense taken. I heard you have three pieces of Supreme Mysterious Iron here. I have a few friends from the Taiqing Sect preparing to forge flying swords, and this material suits them perfectly. Name your price; I’ll buy them on their behalf.”
Old Qian smiled wryly, “Lord Le, unfortunately, the Supreme Mysterious Iron was just sold. There is no fourth piece in the shop.”
“Oh?”
Le Feihuang’s gaze shifted to Pang Yue and Luo Qingyuan, a trace of arrogance appearing on his face. “You bought the Supreme Mysterious Iron? Which sect are you from?”
His manner suggested he considered himself master of this place.
Shi Mingfei stepped forward slightly, “Junior Brother Le, these two are from the Demon Talisman Sect and are my guests.”
Le Feihuang grinned broadly, “Ah, the Demon Talisman Sect… does the occult sect allow demons to attend the Golden Core ceremony?”
Sect Chongxuan, as a neutral faction, did not forbid its disciples from associating with demonic cultivators but did not encourage it either.
To Chongxuan, whether orthodox or demonic sects, all were potential “clients.”
Each sect needed to forge magical treasures, and Chongxuan needed rare materials in exchange.
The division between orthodox and demonic was not so sensitive within Chongxuan.
Yet Le Feihuang now seemed intent on making an issue of it.
Shi Mingfei frowned slightly, hesitant to speak, mindful of her father’s position.
But Le Feihuang waved his hand impatiently, stopping her.
“One day I’ll have to ask Senior Uncle Ding about his family’s conduct,” he said, then looked at Old Qian sharply.
“Old Qian, have you gone senile? Or is someone forcing you to sell Supreme Mysterious Iron to cultivators from the Demon Talisman Sect?”
Old Qian smiled faintly, “Guests are welcome here. Since the Myriad Treasures Pavilion was founded over ten thousand years ago, we never inquire about a customer’s background.”
Le Feihuang sneered coldly, “But today’s Myriad Treasures Pavilion is no longer the same as it was a thousand years ago!”
“Or do you want the legacy of the Pavilion to end in your generation?”
Old Qian said sternly, “This matter does not concern you, Lord Le.”
Le Feihuang laughed bitterly, pointing at Old Qian, “Old Qian, old Qian, I truly underestimated you before! Very well, I’ve taken note of your words.”
He then turned to Pang Yue and Luo Qingyuan coldly, “You two have one incense stick’s time to put down that Supreme Mysterious Iron and leave my Chongxuan Sect immediately.”
Pang Yue smiled wryly, “What wild dog is barking here so arrogantly?”
He showed contempt and frowned at Le Feihuang as if looking at a pile of excrement.
Thanks to his past life experience in games, dueling other players, his acting skills were superb.
Le Feihuang felt deeply insulted.

He paused briefly, realizing this was the first time since birth he had been so humiliated—especially on Chongxuan Sect’s territory!
Who exactly were these two?
Had he misheard? Were they not from the Demon Talisman Sect but from the Heavenly Demon Sect?
In today’s world, who would dare speak to him this way without the backing of a primordial spirit expert?
Was Shi Mingfei, that sly woman, setting him up?
No, they had no grievance… or was it someone else?
Le Feihuang was filled with doubt and suspicion.
Suddenly, he noticed the family insignia on Luo Qingyuan’s sleeve.
Though lazy in cultivation, he loved studying the major powers of the Eastern Sea’s cultivation world—especially Golden Core-level sects, which he understood better than anyone.
The golden pattern on Luo Qingyuan’s cuff was the symbol of a core member of the Demon Talisman Luo family—only core members could wear it!
The Demon Talisman Luo family was a Golden Core aristocratic clan, with their ancestor Luo Zhiyin serving as the head of the Demon Talisman Enforcement Hall… a force not inferior to his own father.
In an instant, his thoughts raced.
Those accompanied by the Demon Talisman Luo family’s core members and Shi Mingfei, yet daring to speak to him like that…
That man before him was very likely from the Heavenly Demon Sect!
“Sigh, I was too rash…”
Le Feihuang sighed deeply inside.
His expression shifted to one of solemnity as he cautiously asked, “Are you gentlemen from the Heavenly Demon Sect?”
Pang Yue smiled ambiguously, neither confirming nor denying, his gaze more arrogant than before.
Le Feihuang nodded knowingly, instantly understanding.
He himself behaved this way when refusing to speak to inferiors.
“I apologize for my rudeness!”
Le Feihuang cupped his hands and bowed.
Then he turned to leave.
“Did I tell you to leave?”
At that moment, a calm voice sounded.
