Volume One, Chapter 66: Hatred!
The Black Warden following behind didn’t have time to stop and crashed into the White Warden, both tumbling to the ground, with the Black Warden landing squarely on top of the White. Dai Li nodded deeply; this Xiao Shan Dao was indeed a truly excellent candidate. Then he turned and spoke to Wang Puchen.
Jin Zhonghuan, seeing what was happening, began shouting loudly as he walked. The hotel lobby was bustling with people, and he certainly didn’t want too many witnesses to his conversation with Wang Tian; such attention would do neither of them any good.
Wang Tian gave a wry smile: of all the mistakes, it was the fault of being a man. How could he have forgotten this? To speak so brashly about Guo Cai—wasn’t he just asking for trouble?
This man radiated vitality, his brows sharp as swords and his demeanor fierce; it was clear at a glance he was someone important. He was none other than Lei Xinyao and Lei Jie’s father, Lei Zhengxiao.
Xiao Yong, seeing that his instructions were understood, nodded at Dong Ru and left. Dong Ru politely thanked him, “Sorry to trouble you,” and entered the room.
Wang Tian shook his head; he didn’t think this was a good idea. Someone like Zhao Liurui, receiving a call out of the blue from a stranger, would surely be suspicious. Most likely she wouldn’t agree to meet, and that would spell disaster.
Carving talismans required extraordinary precision and skillful technique; otherwise, it was all too easy to crack the sliver of stardust, rendering it useless.
Mu Mengmeng straightened her clothes, pulled on a jacket, and hurried to open the door. Sure enough, standing outside was the tall boy.
“Um, Grand Master, he… will he get out of hand?” Xiang Xiangna asked worriedly, pointing at Wu Yong. She held a deep prejudice against him; no matter what astonishing deeds Wu Yong accomplished, her bias would not waver.

Still, Ye Tian disliked the manager’s smiling face, especially those two suspicious eyes. He covertly measured his fingers—should he gouge her eyes out?
The incident had already alarmed Shen Weiguo and the military commission’s top leaders. An attack of this magnitude against the Liu family had enraged the entire elite. For a time, all of Yanjing was gripped by fear and tension.
“No,” replied the voice Lin Ai recognized from the beginning. It hadn’t been among the previous cacophony.
Ye Chong tucked Li Guo’er under his arm and leaped into the darkness, disappearing atop the roof beams in the blink of an eye.
He had managed to elevate his avatar’s power to a fairly high level; at the very least, he needed to cultivate the clone to the Void Spirit Realm.
“You lot!” Liedson was infuriated by Lin Ai’s words, his hand white-knuckled on the hilt of his sword. “I’ll kill you!” he shouted, drawing his blade to strike.
After all, with nuclear fusion technology, they now possessed virtually unlimited resources to battle the shadow creatures. Even if they were temporarily at a disadvantage, so long as they weren’t overrun outright, they could use their endless resources to wear the shadow beings down.
Princess Yuzhen’s tone was gentle, her voice melodious. Ye Chong compared her speech to Hua Nu’s and found them somewhat alike, yet also quite different.
The glacier shone with a red light, crystal clear and utterly transparent, as if it were a flawless diamond. Its unparalleled beauty would leave any living thing in awe.
Feng Yi and the others were delighted, watching eagerly as Feng Youyue channeled spiritual energy into the foreheads of the puppets, hoping more companions would soon join them.

Everyone knew Zhe Yu’s father was the current patriarch of the Vermilion Bird clan. If this matter escalated, Yin Yan would have all their heads for it.
“Axue, lift your hands higher, keep your steps steady. Ayi, you too—focus! Don’t slack off.” Father watched my brother and me spar while holding a whip to keep us in line.
I unleashed my ultimate Arrowstorm technique. Faced with a barrage of winged attacks, Yang Yaotian maintained his composure. He pushed his energy to its utmost limit, and from his arms sprouted two massive bone shields. Joined together, they protected Yang Yaotian perfectly from the onslaught.
As agreed beforehand, Huang Linquan was to call first. He called out ten twos, then Zheng Renyi called ten threes. When it was Yan Le’s turn, he called ten fours. Yang Moling hesitated for a moment before calling ten sixes; Yan Le noticed she still had a six-point die left in her cup—clearly, she was betting that others did as well.
Already upset at having to sleep in someone else’s place in the palace, and now being scolded by some clueless fool, he naturally wore a sullen face.
“You have to trust your men, trust Old Qi. He can hold the line. Besides, if something happens to you, the Tiger Corps will truly fall into chaos. You’re the backbone; you can’t let anything happen to yourself. And do you really think Zhao Dagang would let the secret be compromised?” Old Guan shouted urgently.
Danian refused to let up. “Whether you understand or not, your presence is enough. Eating sweets, drinking water, drinking wine—none of it concerns you. You just need to be here!” Since Danian had said as much, it would be unreasonable for me to object further, so I nodded and promised to be on time.
Yan Le was escorted to the car. He saw Wang Jiaye and Liu Fugui, husband and wife, anxiously watching him from in front of the clinic. Fearing they might act rashly, he signaled them with his eyes and, with his handcuffed hands, mimed making a phone call.
