Volume 1, Chapter 12: Two "What the Hell" Moments
Both men were quite handsome—certainly better-looking than Aiviqi. If they added some suggestive dancing... well, that was actually worth watching.
The fair-skinned youth smiled at Lin Beibei. "We'll do suggestive dancing, too."
Lin Beibei sat up straight, pursed her lips, and tried to look as serious and well-behaved as a model student. She asked casually, "Are you keeping your clothes on?"
The muscular man was amused by her expression; she looked so genuinely curious and slightly shy that it was irresistibly cute. Aiviqi hadn't lied to him—the person they’d connected with was indeed a unique, stunning beauty.
The muscular man raked his fingers through his short black hair and puffed out his chest. His tight white T-shirt strained against his frame, making his solid pectoral muscles bulge. He smiled and replied, "Of course."
"Oh... okay." A flicker of disappointment crossed Lin Beibei's eyes. She remembered seeing guys do suggestive dances where many didn't wear shirts, making the performance quite provocative. She wondered if these two could pull off that same vibe while fully clothed.
After a moment, Lin Beibei asked, "If I win, does that mean your performances have to follow my rules and requirements?"
"That’s right." Aiviqi nodded with a smug grin. "Absolutely, but you have to win first!"
He had come prepared this time. He had urged the guys in his livestream to top up their accounts and had even brought those two other guys along with their wealthy female donors. Lin Beibei was destined to lose! And his goal today wasn't just to make her lose once. He wanted her to keep losing, to keep performing for him, so she would learn what happens when she puts on airs in front of him. She dared to make him gift her a sports car? Heh, even without sports cars, he had plenty of ways to make her perform. Today, he would make her kneel and beg, "Big Brother, I was wrong!" He would show her his true power.
"Fine." Lin Beibei wanted to win a little today, though she wasn't sure if her fans would step up. Still, losing wasn't a big deal. She had noticed that every time she lost and had to do a punishment, the number of viewers in her chat would surge. Any exposure was worth it—what if a new wealthy patron happened to drop in?
Aiviqi suddenly remembered something. "Why haven't you been streaming the past two days?" After their last PK, the viewers in his chat had been complaining that they hadn't seen enough of her. They kept pestering him to connect with her, but he couldn't seem to find her online.
"I have been streaming," Lin Beibei said. "I stream every day."
That was strange. No matter when he checked, he could never catch her live. "What time do you stream?" Aiviqi asked, puzzled.
"I start at seven every evening."
Aiviqi made a mental note of it. Seven every night—he could connect with her every day at that time. "Alright, let's start the PK. One against three." He added an explanation, fearing the newcomer wouldn't understand: "The winner gets to punish the other three."
Turning off his microphone, Aiviqi looked crafty and chuckled to his viewers: "Brothers, from now on, every night at seven, get those big missiles ready for me to win, and you’ll get to see this beauty do suggestive dances!"
[Oh, you've really found the secret to emptying the brothers' pockets!]
"This is just a little treat for you guys! Hahaha, show some effort! How many dances we get to see depends on your support! Her room has decent numbers today, and she’s got a... wait, holy crap! No, two holy craps!"
[What is "two holy craps" supposed to mean??]
"A level 38 and a level 39 big spender. She’s only been streaming for a few days and she already has level 30+ patrons. Brothers, this woman is not ordinary! We have to put in some real work today!"
Aiviqi finished and pulled out his phone to send a WeChat message to the other two: [Brothers, she has two big spenders in her room. Tell your wealthy ladies to step it up! She cannot win!]
Xiao Ke: [Got it.]
Muscle Man Aqi: [Understood!]
Aiviqi: [We’re just going to control her popularity score and keep her suppressed!]
Even though it was a one-against-three match, Aiviqi’s main goal was to punish Lin Beibei. He was worried she might refuse to play if his motive was too obvious, especially since the girl wasn't exactly naive.
Aiviqi put down his phone, crossed his legs, and sat back like a king. He didn't perform, nor did he ask for votes, simply saying, "Those of you who want to see the beauty who looks like Hua Jiunong get punished, you know what to do!" He then leaned back comfortably, waiting for his followers to willingly reach into their own pockets. It was such easy money. He decided he would PK with Beibei every day from now on.
...
In the other three streamers' rooms, gift effects exploded, popularity soared, and the competitive atmosphere reached a fever pitch.
But in Lin Beibei’s room? It was as quiet as a grave. Cold, desolate, and completely stagnant. It was so pathetic there wasn't even a single lollipop to be seen.
Was Lin Beibei not trying hard enough? Not at all. It was the viewers who were deliberately refusing to gift her!
*Most Loves Jiu Jiu*: [Don't gift her. The moment she heard those two guys were going to do suggestive dancing, her expression changed—her eyes lit up. We can't let her see it; we can't let her get what she wants!]
*Enjoying a Mediocre Life*: [Exactly! We can't let her use Hua Jiunong’s face to fawn over other men!]
Lin Beibei: "..."
So, it's okay for them to watch beauties everywhere, but she isn't allowed to look at handsome men?
"Hmph, men."
Whatever. She still had her new friend—Brother Hua! She felt like Brother Hua was a good person. From the moment he entered her room, he had been gifting her, reaching level 38 in just one day. He had never said a bad word about her, nor had he ever suggested she was just a substitute. He felt like a decent guy, much better than that stubborn, hot-tempered "Letter Brother."
Lin Beibei curled her lips into a smile. "Brother Hua, I’m going to sing a song for you. Want to hear it? I specifically learned a new one just for you today."
*Human Wealthy Flower*: [...The connection is a bit unstable right now, let's talk about it later.]
*Most Loves Jiu Jiu*: [Translation: Brother Hua: "Polite refusal."]
Lin Beibei rolled her eyes slightly. "..." Did I ask you to translate?
She turned and asked TTYY with a smile, "Brother T, still want to see me act cute eight times in a row?"
TTYY: [Act cute later, no rush.]
TTYY: [What’s so good about suggestive dancing anyway?]
Lin Beibei: "..."
Exactly! What is so good about suggestive dancing? If it’s not good, why are you all bowing down to Hua Jiunong? You double-standard hypocrites!
Lin Beibei puffed out her cheeks in annoyance. It looked like she was destined to lose this round. These people were clearly not going to spend a single cent.
Across the screen, Aiviqi saw there were only ten seconds left and shouted excitedly, "Last ten seconds! Brothers, hold the line! If we hold, we win!"
The situation was equally intense in the rooms of Xiao Ke and Muscle Man Aqi. Watching them, Lin Beibei couldn't help but laugh inwardly. Her popularity score was zero—why were they so nervous? To hold the line, Muscle Man Aqi even rolled up his sleeves to show off his sturdy biceps, using his looks to seduce the wealthy donors into a final charge.
Seeing this, Lin Beibei’s lips curled upward involuntarily.
*Enjoying a Mediocre Life*: [Should we... just let her quit?]
*Most Loves Jiu Jiu*: [Someone pull her internet cable! Quick!]
